G180 is an unmanned airborne vehicle (UAV) with 180 cm wingspan. It serves as automatically flying sensor platform and may be equipped with e.g. two cameras for aerial mapping purposes or other sensors. While operating at its cruise speed of 12 m/s G180 flies in close to 1 hour a distance of approx. 40 km. Its minimum take-off weight are 3.7 kg, and its maximum take-off weight are 4.9 kg, yet G180 is a small and lightweight fixed wing UAV.
G180 flies very silently and remains up to 1.5 km distance visible for the pilot. Depending on the purpose of the flight mission it may be equipped with real-time video transmission capability. One can integrate a multi-headed camera configuration allowing a 180° view from left to right horizon.
There are many possible use cases for G180, e.g. in all areas of remote sensing, object monitoring, corridor monitoring, e.g. pipelines, in documentation tasks, in disaster situations, for search for persons, in environmental tasks, and many more.
