G170-V is an automatically vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) fixed wing UAV (unmanned airborne vehicle), a so called QuadPlane.
4 rotors enable G170-V to take-off and to land vertically like a quad-copter, and its push-propeller attached to its 170 cm wide wing makes it fly like a regular airplane. It thus ideally pairs the outstanding airplane feature of very efficiently flying larger areas with the simplicity and safety of starting and landing a multicopter. Both, starts & landings as well as flight missions operate fully automatically.
G170-V may carry up to 350 g payload. Its maximum take-off weight are 4 kg. G170-V covers large areas with remote sensing data, be it RGB-imagery, or NIR-imagery, or multi-spectral or thermal images. Real-time video transmission from a gimballed video-camera is possible, too.
There are many possible use cases for G170-V, e.g. in all areas of remote sensing, object monitoring, corridor monitoring, e.g. pipelines, in documentation tasks, in disaster situations, for search for persons, in environmental tasks, and many more.
