Drone Rescue Systems, an aspiring startup from Austria is developing an intelligent, autonomous and data-recording parachute based rescue device for UAVs. Their goal is to enable safe operations for mainly commercial used drones and prevent damages to people, equipment and physical goods. With their solution new fields of applications for commercial used UAVs will be possible and the safety for UAVs will reach a new unmatched level. In addition their mobile Application and online platform, which are used to acquire the recorded flight-data, will provide extensive flight-documentations and analyses. This will be very useful for a pilot during daily UAV usage as well as a protection in terms of insurance related issues. In 2016 their innovative concept was awarded at the European-Satellite-Navigation-Competition by the European Space Agency (ESA). Since 2017 they are members of the ESA – Business Incubation Center – program.
