S. Morelli graduated from Ecole Spéciale Militaire de Saint-Cyr and Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Techniques Avancées. He has retired from the French Army in 2011 after commanding the tactical Drones regiment of the French Army. In 2012, he founded Azur Drones, a civil drones manufacturer specialized in Security sector, which already marketed the Skeytech autonomous system.

In 2013, S. Morelli co created the Fédération Professionnelle du Drone Civil, the French drones users association, of which he was president from 2015 to 2017
